Description
P-51 Mustang engine reveled at an airshow. Originally the Allison V-1710 engine limited high-altitude performance. The Rolls Royce Merlin engine boosted the P-51 to above 15,000 feet to engage the best of the Luftwaffe fighters. During the final year of World War II combat over Europe the new engine allowed the Allies to attain complete air superiority to defeat the Nazi invasion.
