Led Zeppelin II was released in October 1969 by Atlantic Records. (SD8236) The
album's production was credited to the band's lead guitarist and song writer Jimmy Page. It was entirely recorded using the bands core members. Page, guitar, Robert Plant, vocals, John Paul Jones, bass and keyboards, John Bonham, drums. The album exhibited the band's evolving style of blues-derived material and guitar riff-based sound. It has been described as the band's blueprint for all heavy metal bands to follow.
In 1989 Spin Magazine ranked the album No. 5 on the list of 25 Greatest Albums of All Time. In 2003 it ranked No. 75 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of all time
