Every Picture Tells a Story was released in May 1971 by Mercury Records (SRM 1-609). It is Rod Stewart's third studio album recorded at Morgan Studios, London. The album is a mixture of rock, country, soul and folk genres. It went to #1 on both the UK and US charts as did the single “Maggie May”. Jazz & Pop critics' poll for the best album of 1971 rated it #3. The Record Industry Association of America has Certified the album Platinum with 1,700,000 sales.
The album also has enduring critical success, to include #172 on Rolling Stones 2003 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and maintained the rating in 2012. In a retrospective review for Allmusic, Stephen Thomas Erlewine wrote: “Without greatly altering his approach, Rod Stewart perfected his blend of hard rock, folk, and blues on his masterpiece, Every Picture Tells a Story.
As you can see from the various Collections, my areas of interest are broad. I work at letting the subject speak for itself and strive to offer something that gets your attention because it got mine. I have been behind a camera most of my life. It started in high school as newspaper and yearbook photographer. After serving in the US Armed Forces I attended Brooks Institute of Photography. Most of my career however was dedicated to video production as a director of photography, camera operator, editor, and owner operator of a video production company in Denver, Colorado. Since 2011 I have returned to my roots in still photography, making the transition from film to digital. Thank you so much for your interest in my work. I hope...
