The municipality of Schwangau, lies at an elevation of 2,620 ft. at the south west border of the German state of Bavaria. The surroundings are characterized by the transition between the Alpine foothills in the south toward the nearby Austrian border and a hilly landscape in the north.
In the Middle Ages three castles overlooked the villages below. The ruins were bought by King Maximilian II of Bavaria in 1832 and the lower one, called Schwanstein Castle, replaced with a comfortable neo-Gothic palace know as Hohenschwangau Castle. Finished in 1837 it became his family's summer residence and his eldest son Ludwig, born in 1845, spent a large part of his childhood there where Ludwig grew to romanticize the German Knight's and the castles of the Middle Ages.

As you can see from the various Collections, my areas of interest are broad. I work at letting the subject speak for itself and strive to offer something that gets your attention because it got mine. I have been behind a camera most of my life. It started in high school as newspaper and yearbook photographer. After serving in the US Armed Forces I attended Brooks Institute of Photography. Most of my career however was dedicated to video production as a director of photography, camera operator, editor, and owner operator of a video production company in Denver, Colorado.
