Artist's Description

The municipality of Schwangau, lies at an elevation of 2,620 ft. at the south west border of the German state of Bavaria. The surroundings are characterized by the transition between the Alpine foothills in the south toward the nearby Austrian border and a hilly landscape in the north.

In the Middle Ages three castles overlooked the villages below. About Robert VanDerWal

Robert VanDerWal

As you can see from the various Collections, my areas of interest are broad. I work at letting the subject speak for itself and strive to offer something that gets your attention because it got mine. I have been behind a camera most of my life. It started in high school as newspaper and yearbook photographer. After serving in the US Armed Forces I attended Brooks Institute of Photography. Most of my career however was dedicated to video production as a director of photography, camera operator, editor, and owner operator of a video production company in Denver, Colorado. Since 2011 I have returned to my roots in still photography, making the transition from film to digital. Thank you so much for your interest in my work. I hope...
